Our Vision and Mission

Vision

Making Buildings Work — the CSA exists to ensure every building functions safely, compliantly, and efficiently. We champion professional competency, drive industry standards, and support commissioning and water treatment specialists to deliver excellence across all projects.

Mission

To promote commissioning excellence within the construction industry by providing authoritative training, comprehensive courses, and verified qualifications to Commissioning service providers, water treatment specialists, and contractors.

Culture

The CSA emphasises a culture rooted in professional excellence, continuous learning, and strong industry standards. Our core cultural pillars are:

Professional, Quality Service

Ensuring commissioning and water treatment are performed with professionalism and consistent high quality, acting as the trustworthy voice of the industry to promote uniform standards and best practice.

Professional Development & Certification

Offering comprehensive distance-learning programmes and an acclaimed "Core Concepts" Commissioning Management course. Our competency-based certification requires structured training and rigorous examinations for a clear pathway for career advancement.

High Technical Standards & Consistency

Setting industry benchmarks through the CSA Commissioning Engineers Compendium, Technical Memorandums, and Guidance Notes, which are regularly updated to reflect best practice and regulatory changes. We work to harmonise standards across the sector.

Ethical Practice & Industry Advocacy

Upholding ethical commissioning practices, raising awareness of evolving regulations, legislation, and technical innovations affecting the sector, and acting against inconsistent industry standards.

Recognition & Celebration of Excellence

Celebrating talent, dedication, and innovation through our annual CSA Awards, which foster unity and reinforce core values like integrity, teamwork, and continual improvement.

Collaboration & Industry Community

Welcoming a diverse membership across the sector. We foster collaboration and knowledge-sharing, and all members adhere to a professional code of conduct, prioritising honesty, integrity, and compliance.

Community

The CSA brings together commissioning and water treatment professionals from across the UK and internationally, creating opportunities to collaborate, share knowledge and promote best practice throughout the industry.
