VICE CHAIRMAN ’ S S AY
As 2024 draws to a close, I would like to start with thanking the CSA for giving me the opportunity to take up the role as Vice
Chairman. I am both honoured and excited to continue building on the association’s remarkable achievements over the past
year. I am looking forward to collaborating with our members, committee groups and the executive committee over the course
of 2025, whilst working closely with the CSA Team.
Secondly, I would like to congratulate all the finalists at this years CSA Awards, which I must say was a great evening all round
with some worthy winners and finalists. Well done to all.
The Commissioning Specialist Association has long been at the forefront of promoting excellence and innovation within the
commissioning industry. As we approach 2025, the CSA’s role is more vital than ever, serving as a hub for knowledge sharing
and professional development.
Commissioning is not just a procedural step in construction, it is the assurance of quality, efficiency, and reliability in building
systems. As we look ahead to 2025, we can expect the introduction of the CSA Water Treatment DLC Part C alongside the
updated Commissioning DLCs which defines the ambitions being set out for 2025 by the association.
The CSA remains a cornerstone of the commissioning industry, dedicated to supporting its members and advancing the
profession. As we embrace the challenges and opportunities of 2025, the CSA will continue to lead the way in innovation and
professional development. Together, we will ensure that commissioning specialists remain integral to delivering world class,
high performing buildings by developing the future generation of commissioning engineers and commissioning managers.
I look forward to working with all of you to ensure that commissioning specialists remain at the forefront of delivering
excellence in the commissioning industry.
I wish everyone a happy Christmas and here’s to a successful and impactful 2025.
EX CITING LA UNCH OF THE C S A ANZ CHAP TER
We are thrilled to announce the establishment of the Australian and New Zealand (ANZ)
Chapter of the Commissioning Specialists Association. Our first meeting was held on 10th
September via Microsoft Teams. Despite the challenging time differences—8am for New
Zealand, 6am for Australia, and 9pm for the UK—the dedication and participation from the
ANZ team were truly commendable. Our second meeting took place on 21st October, and
we are planning to schedule our next meeting after the Christmas break.
The ANZ Chapter is composed of esteemed professionals including Mark Crawford and
Martin Payne from CxM Ltd, Jason Chapstick from Airlab, Jeremy Lawson from MK Lawson
Commissioning Engineers, Mike Lloyd from Ellis Air Conditioning, Shaun Matthews from Optiflow, and Michael from Testcom
NZ. Their expertise will be invaluable as we work towards our goals.
Our primary objective is to raise awareness of the importance of implementing correct commissioning procedures by properly
trained engineers across the ANZ regions. By ensuring high standards and best practices, we aim to enhance the quality and
efficiency of commissioning processes.
Currently, we are exploring opportunities to collaborate with CIBSE ANZ, EngineersNZ, and EngineeringAUS. These partnerships
will help us expand our reach and impact across the continent.
We are also actively seeking new members and commissioning companies in ANZ to join our chapter. Your involvement will
contribute to our mission and help us achieve greater success together, if you would like to join please drop the office an email
office@csa.org.uk.
Thanks to the current members for your continued support and engagement, we have a few new members to introduce in the
new year. We look forward to making significant strides in the commissioning industry with the ANZ Chapter.
