          The first thing to note is the Water Treatment Pathway of Development has 2 pathways.
          1.  DLC Pathway (following the blue arrows on the left) and
 CSA Water Treatment Pathway of Development   2.  Academic Pathway (following the orange arrows on the right).



          Those with related academic experience (City & Guilds/HNC/ONC/NVQ in building services)
 Management  progress via Management Pathway of Development
          should choose the Academic pathway, those without should choose the DLC pathway.

          pathway must enter as a Trainee and move through the Pathway of Development as shown.

 Grade 4 awarded  Anyone entering the DLC pathway would start as a Trainee and enrol onto DLC A.
 GRADE 4  Water   Treatment   Engineer  Minimum 5 years proven water treatment experience with a   Assessment Review Panel  Building or Allied Services. A minimum 7 years proven water
 Relevant City & Guilds – full certificate or NVQ level 4 in
 treatment experience with a recognised company & comply

 Pass both Grade 4 Technical & Theory Invigilated Exams   Once they have completed DLC A homework and passed DLC A exam – along with meeting Grade

          1 Job Description and the minimum proven timeframe (1 year for Grade 1 on DLC route) the
 Grade 3 awarded  candidate can then apply for a Grade 1 – upgrade.
 GRADE 3  Water   Treatment   Technician  Minimum 3 years proven water treatment experience with a   Assessment Review Panel  Relevant City & Guilds level 3  or 3 rd   year ONC/OND, or NVQ
