From a training perspective, the CSA have compiled 3 unique Water Treatment Distance Learning
Courses – WT DLC A, WT DLC B and WT DLC C.

Grade 1 – Water Treatment Assistant - Red SKILLcard
These Distance Learning Courses are designed to complement the experience that should be
obtained via on-the-job training. There are elements of the DLC training covering health & G1.1 – Experience requirement
To successfully pass your Grade 1 you will need:

Basic Microbiology 14. Be able to backflush terminal coils under supervision.
Chemistry Pipe Sizing 15. Be able to carry out demonstration of systems under supervision.
Sampling 16. Be aware of the programme of work you are trying to achieve.
17. Become familiar with BS8552 processes and equipment used.
Guidance & Codes of Practice Disinfection & Water Hygiene Heat Exchangers 18. Be able to carry out sampling to BS8552 under supervision.
19. Have a basic understanding of tank cleans with associated disinfections.
